Born on the South Side of Chicago and raised in western Washington, founder Jovan Willis studied Broadcasting and Electronic Media at Gonzaga University before answering the call to serve in the U.S. Army. He spent 8 years as an Air Traffic Controller—an operational crucible where split-second technical precision and absolute regulatory compliance were the only acceptable baselines for human safety.

Following a medical retirement from active duty, Jovan set out to rebalance his life with a focus on health, family, and community, guided by a dream to build organic, reliable connections from a secure home environment. To back this vision with elite technical credentials, he earned his Bachelor of Science in Audio Production from Full Sail University, founding Iron Pen Studios in July 2020.

Today, we combine tactical military systems discipline, broadcasting pedigree, and clinical audio training.
